But how do you know when it’s time to make an investment in your website again? To help you decide, I’ve put together a few key factors that determine whether it’s time to update your website:

It’s Not Appearing in Google

If your website isn’t appearing in Google, chances are your site’s optimization is lackluster. Although long-term SEO takes work, there’s plenty of on-site optimization tactics you can employ that will make a big difference in your ranking.

Slow Loading Times

There are several reasons why your site might be taking longer than usual to load. Did you know you lose nearly half of your site visitors if your website takes more than three seconds to load? Giving your site a makeover can address those slow loading times.

Not Mobile Friendly

It’s official: the majority of searches take place on mobile devices. Therefore, your site should be responsive and user-friendly for all device types.

Your Traffic Isn’t Converting

If you’re getting the traffic and not converting, you have to take a step back and ask yourself why. The fact is, design plays an instrumental role in creating great first impressions. Studies have even shown that consumers make decisions about whether or not to trust a brand based on design. If your traffic isn’t converting into sales, your website may be the bottleneck in your sales funnel.

High Bounce Rates

High bounce rates are a key indication that it’s time for a redesign. Bounce rates refer to the number of times people visit your website and quickly leave. Often, it indicates that the visitor has not found what they’re looking for and/or your website isn’t delivering a strong first impression. A redesign addresses both usability and branding issues.
