How to Stay Disciplined When You Work From Home

Around the world, people are adjusting to the remote work lifestyle. For real estate agents, this responsibility is tenfold—not only are you responsible for working from home, but you’re also responsible for growing your own business and brand. And as you may have noticed, working from home isn’t as easy as it sounds. With that in mind, here are our top 5 tips:

Create a Start & Stop Time

Even if you aren’t pinned to specific hours, creating a regular start and stop time will help you get into a rhythm with your work schedule and create a more harmonious balance between your work/life.

Prioritize Your Work Tasks

Knowing how to prioritize your work tasks will make your work day go much more smoothly. Try using the 1-3-5 productivity rule as a framework for your day. Complete 1 big thing, 3 medium things, and five small things.

Create a Daily To-Do List

Chances are you’re using a project or task management platform to keep track of all your tasks. However, you’ll feel more confident about your day if you pull the day’s tasks into a separate checklist, which eliminates the clutter of other platforms and allows you to focus on the core projects for the work day.

Keep a Dedicated Office Space

Working from your bed or sofa isn’t an effective long-term strategy. Invest in a dedicated at-home work station that mimics an office environment and allows you to feel more comfortable with your daily set-up. An extra monitor, ergonomic chair, desk, and office supplies are great items to have.

Create a Morning Routine

Your morning prep routine prepares your mindset for the day. Tips for a great morning ritual: wake up at the same time, eat a healthy breakfast, listen to music or a podcast, meditate for a few minutes, and set your daily goals.

These five tips can help you get into a more disciplined routine. And remember, we’re all in this together. If you’ve got any struggles you want to share or tips that you’ve found successful, we’d love to hear them!
